Welcome to Cesar Chavez Academy

Cesar Chavez Academy – Central is a public charter school that is part of the Cesar Chavez School Network consisting of Cesar Chavez Academy elementary in Pueblo. Our school is chartered through the Colorado State Institute of Charter Schools – a division of the Colorado Department of Education.

Cesar Chavez Academy – Central is a small school currently serving students in grades Kindergarten through 6th grade. The school will expand to offer 7th grade for the 2008 – 2009 school year. Our goal is to expand the opportunities of our students by fostering in them a commitment to exceptional academic achievement, leadership, and community involvement. This goal is accomplished by a commitment to intense academic preparation, a focus on community service, small class size, a longer school day and year, expected parental commitment, and a heavily involved staff.

Our curriculum is built upon a Core Knowledge Framework with an emphasis on building a strong literacy foundation. The core program integrates Spanish, music, art, and PE into daily instruction. CCA—Central is building a relationship with Penrose Library to expand our reading instruction and available resources. An academic-based before and after-school program is also available.
